From Wine to Maple Syrup
Pier-Alexis Soulière, MS was born in a village of less that 500 souls called Saint-Pierre-Baptiste in the province of Quebec. He grew up in the World Maple Syrup Capital but somehow ended in the wine world at the age of 20 years old. He worked as a Sommelier on 3 different continents in Michelin stars restaurants and won several top sommeliers contests worldwide. He then realized the quality of maple syrup he grew up with was non accessible to most chefs and guests he was interacting with. In 2018, he moved back to Quebec from California and decided to launch P-A Soulière Sélection Ltd.
His goal was to give the opportunity to his clients worldwide to embrace the purity, tradition and savoir-faire of his homeland.

Who is Pier-Alexis Soulière?
Pier-Alexis has founded his company, P-A Soulière Sélection Ltd in 2019. He produces and distributes his maple syrup cuvées (Cuvée Roger & Cuvée Saint-Laurent) worldwide to fine groceries, hotels and restaurants. As a Master Sommelier, he also offers consulting services in restaurants and hotels, online wine tasting events, wine cellar management as well as training & education.
Prior to starting his company, Pier-Alexis has dedicated the past 12 years of his career providing world class wine service and enhancing guest experience in some of the most demanding environments. The journey started in Montréal and brought him to excel in 3 different continents, from London to Sydney to New York City and recently California. He worked in some of the most prestigious Michelin stars establishments, such as Dinner by Heston Blumenthal , The Modern , and Manresa Restaurant.
In 2014, he won the World Young Sommelier of the Year competition held in Copenhagen. In 2016, he became one of very few to earn the Master Sommelier title before the age of 30, a title held by a total of 5 individuals in Canada, only 2 in the province of Québec, and 266 worldwide. In 2017, Pier-Alexis was named Québec’s Best Sommelier by the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers and one year later he won Best Sommelier of the Americas by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale amongst 20 participants from 10 countries. In 2019, he represented the Americas at the World’s Best Sommelier Competition held in Belgium and reached the World top 10. In 2021 he was named Best Sommelier of Canada by the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers. In 2022, he will represent his country at the World’s Best Sommelier Competition to be held in Paris.

How do you select the Maple Syrup?
Each cuvées are carefully selected by Pier-Alexis who is sampling maple syrup production on a daily basis during the harvest and only selecting the best of the best for bottling and distribution. Typically, only a small percentage of the annual production make it to the selection.
